Kundalini Yoga – The art & science of disciplined awareness
Many people have been taught to be afraid of Kundalini’s power, and have even repeated stories of those who’ve had Kundalini Awakenings and suddenly went crazy. Yet, the Kundalini energy is an inherent force – natural, intense and life-changing. It’s awesome capabilities illustrate why the practice of learning to harness this energy with grace requires focus, discipline, and intent.
More than simply a stretch class or a slew of breathing techniques, Kundalini Yoga is an ancient art and science, studied & shared for millennia. This is a true blending of the physical and non-physical, inner awareness with outer expression. Feelings and thoughts and actions all combined into a system for living that quite literally changes your world view and your place within it.
In this Experiential class, you will enjoy practices that open up your body’s gateways to perception. Cerebral Spinal Fluid, glandular secretions, blood flow, and yes, your breath, commingle with the more subtle aspects of your Intention. The energy of your mind and the emotional power of your heart combine within the form of your body to channel & create your experience. Come practice shifting your awareness on a level that may surprise you, while also generating a clear understanding that you have manifested the reality you currently experience – both the awesome and the terrifying, the profound and the profane. Learn new tools to focus your intention, harness your inner power, and elevate your inherent capabilities into a greater expression of self.
This class is open to all levels, even if you have had zero yoga experience in the past. Everything that you need has already been born within you.
Yoga for Labor – Transformational Birth
The notion of women straining with every muscle in their bodies as they labor, screaming curse words to all who come near is NOT the standard for birth! Gentle, rhythmic movements help both you and your baby get into the most comfortable positions possible for birth. Learn how to really breathe, and get a deeper focus to dispel your fears. Get stronger in both body and mind. These are crucial ingredients for you to experience the outcomes you desire. With practice, the Yoga for Labor postures & mindset learned in class become easy & familiar. The more you play with them as part of your daily experience, they automatically become second nature for when you need it most.
In Yoga for Labor -Transformational Birth you will learn:
- Learn how to meet and overcome your fears about pain or confrontation that has caused you to try to hide from facing your challenges.
- Learn to honor your Knowing, because your experience is your best teacher,
- Become empowered and ready to step into the expanded identity of Motherhood
- This time leading up to birth can teach you more about who you are as a human, as a woman, and what you are actually made of, then at any other time in your life.
Alter your experience and create a beautiful birth for you and your child by trusting yourself and dealing with your fears before you go into labor. No matter what you may have learned about birth up to now, even if you birthed before, this is a new time and a new pregnancy. Understand new layers of yourself that you may have never before recognized. Become more honest with yourself, and prepared for your future. so that you may grow into the mother & the family that your child deserves. Conscious parenting begins now.
Kristen Eykel’s Hathalini
Kristen Eykel’s Hathalini Yoga is a unique combination of classic Hatha postures combined with the intention, breath, and power of Kundalini Yoga. With Kristen’s focus on teaching proper alignment and positioning in each posture, you discover a new layer to your old asana. Relaxation & integration between positions is also important, as this allows time for your consciousness to unfold, and maybe even a sense of letting go that which has been completed. The emotional & physical release is frequently part of this practice. Ending with soothing Restoration postures and guided meditation, this practice is appropriate for all levels, as each class is tailored to the participants who join.
